Mission Complete: 2 May 2019- TSgt William C. McGee, USAF(Ret), Korea, Vietnam Veteran, Moore, Ok.
On Thursday, 2 May 2019 there were 12 Patriot Guard Riders on 9 bikes and 2 cages who attended the mission to Honor the Military Service of Korea and Vietnam Veteran TSgt. William C. McGee at the Moore Cemetery in Moore, Ok.
The area surrounding the committal shelter was staked and the American Flag and USAF Flag flew proudly in the breeze
The briefing was held, followed by a moment of silence for the Blue,Silver and Gold families, POWs and MIAs. A prayer asking comfort for the grieving family, a safe mission and protection for our military personnel engaged in the in the Global War on Terror was also said.
After the briefing was held, PGR members mounted up for a short ride to the Kohl’s parking lot where members met up with the Coach, family and friends.
With the able assistance of the Moore Police Dept., members accompanied the Coach, family and friends to the Moore Cemetery and stood a Respect Line as the Hero was moved from the Coach to the grave site by pall bearers from the USAF Honor Guard.
The USAF Honor Guard rendered a 3 round volley and Taps was played. The Honor Guard then folded the flag and presented it to the Hero’s daughters and then stood by while the PGR made their presentations.
The PGR Plaque was read and 2 Plaques were presented to the Hero’s daughters. The RCIC then read the PGR Invocation and presented it, along with copies, and printed condolences to the Hero’s 2 daughters, then thanked the family for inviting us to come and Honor the Military Service of their loved one.
Thank You to all my fellow Patriot Guard Riders for attending this mission. Your presence made a difference to this family.
Most of all Thank You TSgt. William C. McGee for your service to this great nation. Rest In Peace Sir, your mission is complete, and you will not be forgotten.
Respectfully
RCIC Bruce “Sixgun” McCormick
