ABOUT THE MISSION:
Escort to and flag line at Leavenworth National Cemetery where LTC Welch and his wife will both be interred. Bill served in both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy and retired after 27 years of active service. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation. LTC Welch worked at the the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington and then served in Vietnam with COMUSMACV, as Chief, Intelligence Data Handling Systems Branch and later in Sicily as COMFAIRMED (Commander Fleet Air Mediterranean). He also served as Communications Officer at Midway Island. Bill retired from the U.S. Navy in 1979.

- Take 23rd Street to E 1600 Rd. (O’Connell Rd).
South on E 1600 Rd approximately 500 ft. to FIRST LEFT (EAST) which is Exchange Place Rd.
Turn LEFT (East) on Exchange Place Rd and begin staging at that intersection.
