ABOUT THE MISSION:
Cpl. Carter proudly and honorably served in the Marine Corps 2 years as an Anti-Tank Assault Man, including 11 months in Vietnam. His last duty assignment was MP & GD Co, H & S Bn, MCB, Camp Lejeune, NC.
Medal and commendations include Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal w/2Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device, Presidential Unit Commendation Ribbon w/1 Bronze Star, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Gallantry Cross Medal Color w/Palm), Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation (Civil Actions Medal, First Class Color w/Palm), Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
He worked for Ellisville PD, Jones County SO and retired from Laurel PD.

PGR will render final salute prior to start of the 1:00 p.m. service. Following the service we will escort Cpl. Carter to his final duty station at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery, 548 Springhill Rd, Laurel MS 39443.
We will stand a silent flag line for graveside service with Military Honors.
