ABOUT THE MISSION:

We are sad to report the death of U.S. Navy, ANG CSM (Ret), Clinton PD Cpt (Ret) Hinds Cnty. SO, Vietnam & Desert Storm Veteran Wesley Reeves, Jr. His family has requested Patriot Guard Riders participate in his services. It will be our honor to do so. CSM Reeves proudly and honorably served his country 33 years, 4 years in the Navy and 29 years in ANG. In the Navy he was a MM3 aboard the USS Taylor (DD-463) serving in Vietnam. While serving in the 112th Military Police Bn. CSM Reeves helped start the 114th MP Unit in Clinton MS. He was with this unit when they were deployed to Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and again to Iraq theater in 2003 where he led troops guarding high risk targets, including captured Iraqi Dictator Saddam Hussein. He remained with 112th Unit until his retirement in 2006. CSM Reeves also achieved rank of Captain while working with Clinton Police Department 25 years until his retirement. He then worked for Hinds County Sheriff’s Office as an investigator for 11 years. His medals include National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Reserve Components Achievement Medal (2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Humanitarian Service Medal (1 Bronze Star), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Bronze Star, War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal and numerous other medals.
