ABOUT THE MISSION:
After graduating Woden High School, Mr Wheeler immediately joined the United States Marine Corps. Wes was proud to serve our country and did it with honor. He was a member of the elite 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines and during Desert Storm, he joined his fellow Marines in being the initial group to clear the Kuwait Airport. He was later transferred to the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines. During his service, he was deployed to Korea and Okinawa, Japan on 3 occasions. He was also honored to have earned the mark of 4th Award Rifle Expert, of which he was very proud. Other decorations include Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (w/2*), National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal (w/2*), Combat Action Ribbon, Letter of Appreciation, Kuwait Liberation Medal and Navy Unit Commendation.
