3-3-2016
Fofo Tulifua Tuitele, an American National from the island of American Samoa, retired from the United States Marine Corps as an E8/Master Sergeant, after over twenty two of honorable service. MSgt. Tuitele served in theater during the Vietnam War, earning numerous awards and ribbons for his bravery, gallantry and valor during his three tours as a Scout Sniper. Among his awards, MSgt. Tuitele was awards the Bronze Star Medal with a Combat “V”, signifying his valor during combat, and the Purple Heart Medal.
MSgt. Tuitele’s story touched the hearts of the employees of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Albuquerque Field Office (of which 42% of the staff are Veterans) our hearts when we were made aware that he never received a proper welcome home after his service in Vietnam. This office has decided to do its best in correcting that, and giving him the best possible welcome home this community can give to this hero among us. We are asking that you arrive before 09:00 and help us in granting this United States Marine a proper welcome home.
