Mr. Thomas served with the US Army from 1958 till 1961 guarding missile silos. After that he returned to Ruffin and in 1965 started his family. He also served at Charleston Naval Shipyard for 33 years as a nuclear instructor. Mr. Thomas served numerous positions with the Tabor United Methodist Church in Ruffin\, SC. He also loved baseball\, he was a big New York Yankee fan and participated in coaching the children of Colleton County on different levels. He also played in the American Legion League. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 56 years.
