ABOUT THE MISSION:

This is a three part mission. Mr. Thomas served with the US Army from 1958 till 1961 guarding missile silos. After that he returned to Ruffin and in 1965 started his family. He also served at Charleston Naval Shipyard for 33 years as a nuclear instructor. Mr. Thomas served numerous positions with the Tabor United Methodist Church in Ruffin, SC. He also loved baseball, he was a big New York Yankee fan and participated in coaching the children of Colleton County on different levels. He also played in the American Legion League. Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 56 years. He has two sons, three grandchildren, six nieces and two nephews.

We will form a Flag line at 5:30 pm for the arrival of the family. We will hold the flag line for the duration of the visitation, 6-8.Covid 19 protocols will be followed, please bring a mask or other face covering.

Briefing: 9:15 am
After the briefing, we will establish a flag line for the arrival of family and to render honors bringing Mr. Thomas to the hearse. Then we will return our flags to the flag wagon and prepare for the escort to the church/cemetery. Those who do not participate in the escort, please go ahead to the church/cemetery arrive no later than 10:30 am. LEO has been requested but not confirmed.

Special Instructions:

Brief upon arrival of Escort, time permitting. Those going to Stage 3 will establish a flagline at 10:45 am and await arrival of escort. Upon arrival at Tabor United Methodist those in escort will join the in place flag line. All Covid protocols will be followed. The use of face covering or mask is mandatory at the national cemetery.
