ABOUT THE MISSION:

Another Vietnam Era Veteran has been lost. Warren Wendell Short served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves attaining the rank of Corporal. After service he went on to graduate from Georgia State University with a History major. He worked for many years with the Small Business Administration retiring in 2006. Mr. Short loved to cook and enjoyed even more eating his cooking. He loved reading and anything involving railroads and trains. The Patriot Guard Riders are honored to be present for the inurnment of Warren Wendell Short at Georgia National Cemetery. Canton, Georgia.

Special Instructions:

Stage in the right parking lot. After a short briefing we will establish a flag line and stand for the arrival of guests from 11:15 until 12:15 pm. We will get lined up for a law enforcement assisted rolling honor guard to GNC. KSU scheduled for 12:30 pm.
Coronavirus precaution disclosure: Please bring a mask and wash hands often, be prepared to follow the guidelines from state and local officials as well as facility or cemetery guidelines to be outlined at mission briefing. A general record of attendees will be held by ride captain for a period not to exceed 2 weeks in the case of the need for contact tracing. If you test positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of attending a mission please contact Ride Captain with that information, your name will NOT be disclosed.Those who are sick, have a household member or other close contact who is sick should not attend and those who have higher risk of severe illness should weigh the benefits of in-person attendance against risk of exposure to a person with COVID-19, especially if recommendations for wearing masks and social distancing may be difficult to follow for themselves or others.

Special Instructions:

Stage at the PIC building. Cages park closely on both sides of drive leaving room up front on left for arriving bikes from escort. We will move to the assigned shelter when appropriate. Service is scheduled for 1:30 pm.
