ABOUT THE MISSION:
Walter was a volunteer at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Walter joined the US Air Force in 1949, was in the Korean war as an air craft mechanic, attaining the rank of SSGT. His medals included Unit Citation, Korean Service Medal W/2 Bronze Stars and a Presidential Unit Citation. He was discharged in 1952. He then went on to the US Air Force Reserves
