ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family and friends of U.S. Navy sailor Walter R. Smith, Jr. requested the Patriot Guard Riders presence to stand a flag line prior to and after his memorial service at the Madarin Untied Methodist Church as the family shows their final respects to their hero. They have also asked that we escort Walter to his final resting place at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Walter Smith, Jr. served his country for 22 years enlisting in the US Navy in 1941. Walter was a Pearl Harbor Survivor and served as a turret gunner during the War in the Pacific (WWII) and Korea.
