Walter “Skip” L. Whitfield, Jr., Veteran

Walter passed away on May 18, 2020.  He was born in Raleigh, NC, and served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1962 with the rank of E4, radio operator, on the USS Preserver (ARS-8).  He was stationed at Norfolk, VA.
He was a generous and proud family man who loved the outdoors.

KSU: 1:30 PM, escort to the family cemetery where a private service and military honors will be presented.  Special Instructions for PGR missions during the COVID-19 virus: we will abide by all rules and regulations set by the CDC and the State of South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs.  Each attendee is responsible to bring a personnel face-covering.  It does not have to be an actual mask, any sort of covering will be sufficient.  In keeping with the requirements, PGR members will maintain at least a six-foot distance between each other during the briefing and flag-line.  We are also instructed to be no closer than forty feet from the family funeral tent.
