ABOUT THE MISSION:
The PGR and all allied Veteran Support Rider groups – WWR, Military Escort Team and ALR – have been requested to provide an escort for Capt. Walter M Lamb Jr. USAAF, a World War II veteran of extraordinary service; and we will be honored to do so. Captain Lamb was assigned to pulling gliders into enemy airspace on D-Day and served as navigator on planes that transported General Omar Bradley. He also flew planes to transport Generals Patton and Eisenhower. He was involved in campaigns in Normandy, Ardennes, the Rhineland and over Central Germany. He was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Bronze Star, a Unit Citation, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with five Bronze Stars.
