DESCRIPTION:Honor Mission \nWalter Jean Martin\, Retired\, Veteran\nUSA  – Vietnam\nMULTI-CITY\, Arizona – 08 Mar 2018\n\n\n[HR][/HR]\nABOUT THE MISSION: \n\nThe Patriot Guard has been requested to honor Walter Jean Martin\, and we do so gratefully\, with honor and respect. The Patriot Guard will escort our hero to the National Cemetery of Arizona for 11:00 A.M. military honors which he so rightfully deserves. \nWalter was a USA veteran\, who served honorably from 1962 – 1982. One of the Patriot Guard Riders Assistant State Ride Captains described him as one of our “super heroes”. Indeed he was\, as the following medals and commendations attest: He served honorably in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He served for 12 years as Indirect Fire Infantryman and 14 years as Military Police. In addition to the Purple Heart he was awarded the following medals and commendations: Bronze Star Medal\, Army Commendation Medal\, Presidential Unit Citation\, Meritorious Unit Commendation\, Good Conduct Medal (5th award)\, National Defense Service Medal\, Vietnam Service Medal (1-6)\, NCO Professional Development Medal\, Vietnam Campaign Medal\, Vietnam Civil Action Unit Citation (2nd award). He received the Army Service Medal\, Overseas Service Bars\, Vietnam Jump Wings\, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm\, Combat Infantry Badge\, Parachutist Badge and M-16 Expert Badge. \nHis DD214 states that his extension of service was “at the request and convenience of the government”. A true hero and patriot is who we are honoring. A remarkable man.
