Walla Walla Gold Star Families Memorial Monument Dedication

College Place, Washington – 11-20-20

This is a multi-city mission.
Members of the PGR, we have been invited to stand a Flag Line for the Walla Walla Gold Star Families Memorial Monument dedication. The Gold Star Memorial Monument is a vision of Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, Hershel “Woody” Williams. As WW II began, “Woody” came into direct contact with these families in his own community when he delivered Western Union telegrams informing these families of the death of their loved one.
This experience and his personal commitment to the veterans and their families brought about the creation of the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation. To date, Woody and his foundation are responsible for establishing 75 Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments across the United States, with more than 72 additional monuments underway in 49 states. The Foundation continues to grow its reach by being involved in multiple initiatives across the country.
