Memorial
Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park Opening
Seattle, Washington – 05-25-19

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, We have been invited to attend the Grand Opening Ceremony for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. It’s been nearly 7 years in the making. $3 million in funds have been privately raised, the design plans completed, the aircraft (a B-52G) has been restored & transported, the stature of a returning airman holding a folded American flag is done and construction started on a park honoring all those who served in Vietnam.  The park will feature a restored, massive B-52G and be FREE to the public.  The programs for the day will include aircraft fly-overs, a color guard performance and a special pinning ceremony for all Vietnam veterans in attendance to honor their service.  This will be a very joyful mission, and I think, particularly moving for all our Vietnam veterans in this group.  I hope you all can make it, if not for the ceremony, at least try to make if over the weekend to see this special park.  The dedication ceremony is FREE for the public to attend, although the Museum’s exhibits and galleries require paid admission. Veterans will receive free admission to the entire Museum this weekend (May 25-27) plus one adult and any children under 17.
