Veteran PTSD and Awareness
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina – 12-31-19
ABOUT THE MISSION:
Staff Sergeant Van Booth (Retired) is walking across the country from coast to coast to raise awareness for Veteran PTSD and awareness for suicide. He is shining light on two programs called Operation Song and Freedom Sings USA. Veterans are able to sit down and tell their story as a form of therapy and it is written into a song with the help of award winning songwriters. Van is even carrying a guitar without strings and adding one every 500 miles as a symbol of healing. He started his journey this February in San Juan Capistrano, California and will end in Plyler Park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His journey allowed him to meet a lot of people and have numerous memorable adventures along the way. He is such a wonderful inspiration. Let’s make sure he gets a warm welcome to Myrtle Beach for his successful conclusion of this mission.

After the briefing, we will determine the exact time to form a flag line. Staff Sergeant Booth is due to arrive around 9:00 AM. He is walking and may arrive early or after 9:00 AM so we will need to be flexible (Semper Gumby). I would like to have some bikes to Escort him on his final mile to Plyler Park. Also, if anyone wanted to move to Plyler Park, 1309 Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach they would establish a 2nd flag line . Still working on a LEO Escort from the Veterans Center to Plyler Park.
