Honor Mission
Vernon Nolan Ireton, Veteran

ABOUT THE MISSION:

The Patriot Guard Riders will escort Vernon Nolan Ireton from the Greenlawn South Funeral Home to our hero’s final resting place at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO and there will stand a flag line where full military honors will be rendered.
Hero Ireton proudly and honorably served our country from January 1972 to September 1978 in both the USMC as a Lance Corporal, Combat Engineer assigned to the 8th Engineering Battalion, and in the USN as a Builder Petty Officer 3rd Class. He later served in the Army National Guard but we have no records for this service. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal as a Marine and the M-16 Rifle Marksman Award as a naval NCO. His naval time included 2 yrs. and 4 mos. foreign service.
