17/JUN/16
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been requested to stand for Vernon C. Jordan, age 72.
Vern enlisted in the US Coast Guard on 12 April 1961 and was trained as a Quarter Master. Vern served honorably until his discharge on 9 April 1965. Vern was assigned to the US Coast Guard cutter Casco (WAVP-370) out of Boston, Mass. During his assignment, the USCGC Casco stood duty off of the coast of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his Coast Guard Service, Vern became a Heavy Equipment Operator and enjoyed Motorcycling very much, riding for many years. Vern’s Bother-In-Law was a close friend and former Shipmate of Ride Captain Larry “Woody” Haas. Please join us as we help support his family, pay our respects, and honor his service to our nation.
