SSG Verna Lea Poindexter retired with twenty years of service in the U.S. Army. Awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6 awards), National Defense Service Medal (2 awards), NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 3, and Expert Marksmanship Badge Rifle (M-16).  Obituary

Riders will stage at Mullican-Little Funeral Home. A mission briefing will be held, and the riders will establish the Flag Line for the funeral service. When the service begins, flags will be returned to the support vehicle, riders debriefed and dismissed from this portion of the mission. The mission will resume as detailed in part 2 of this mission notice. NTXPGR RC Rick Elliott will oversee part 2 of this mission.

Riders will stage at the DFW National Cemetery Visitors Center. Following the mission briefing, Honor Bikes will move to the staging lane and prepare to escort SSG Poindexter’s family and friends to the shelter, remaining riders will proceed to the shelter and prepare the Flag Line.
