ABOUT THE MISSION:

Brothers and Sisters of the PGR and Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I come to you today with a call to once again stand silent and proud for one who stood for us. We will answer this call as always, with Honor and Respect. MsGySgt Vaughn Chivacci served 22 years in the United States Marine Corps before retiring. During his time in the Corps he served one tour in Vietnam in 1967. He earned many medals and awards during his time in service but due to the short notice of this mission his exact list is not available at this time.
This will be a 2 Part Mission: We have been asked to stand a flag line in honor of MsGySgt Chiavacci for the visitation  at Jones Funeral Home,
. We have additionally been requested to stand a flag line for the funeral service to be conducted  at Infant of Prague Catholic Church, and to provide an escort immediately following the service, to Onslow Memorial Park as MsGySgt Chiacacci completes his final mission.

Special Instructions:

Staging: 10 June 2019 Infant of Prague Church11:30 am – Briefing and set flags11:45 am – Establish flag line 1;00 pm – Stand down flag line and prep for honors and escort1:30 pm – KSU for Cemetery2:00 pm – Grave side service begins  Once the service begins we will stand down the flag line and prepare for honors and the escort. Once we arrive at the cemetery we will dismount and form a flag line for the grave side service. Upon completion of the grave side service we will stand down and quietly depart the area.
 **SPECIAL NOTE: Safety is of our utmost priority. Every effort possible is made in planning and executing the PGR Mission statement in a manner that minimizes the inherit dangers of riding a motorcycle, including riding in groups of all sizes and any situation. While the NCPG, and it’s riders have a remarkable safety record in the execution of our missions, infrequently members have been injured in unforeseen accidents. In an effort to mitigate the risk of preventable accidents, all attendees who wish to ride in a Patriot Guard motorcycle escort or ride are asked to attend the pre-mission briefing. It will include a safety briefing, and any unique ride information known to our RCIC that may be specific to the mission. Member safety and well-being is always a principal ongoing concern, our RCIC’s are asked to stand-down from any mission that cannot be accomplished in relative safety or unreasonable risk. This includes both rides and flag lines in inclement weather and conditions. It remains each individual PGR member’s responsibility to ride within their own comfort zone and be cognizant of their surroundings and skill limitations as well as any physical needs or limitations. If the ride and/or mission conditions present challenges beyond your skill, comfort, or needs you are expected to exercise good judgment in foregoing any planned participation.
