Troy E. Matthews

CMES Troy E. Matthews, United States Coast Guard, was on Active Duty and serving as an Instructor at the Maritime Law Enforcement Academy at the time of his passing.  He was a resident of Summerville, SC and served our nation honorably for 25 years.  During his service, CMES Matthews earned the title of Boarding Team member, Deployable Team Leader and Law Enforcement Instructor. His awards included Coast Guard Commendation Medal, four Coast Guard Achievement Medals, four Humanitarian Service Medals, three Special Operations Service Medals among many others.

Special Instructions:

After the 8:45 briefing, we will stand a flag line until the beginning of the church service, scheduled to begin at 10:00 am. After the service starts, most riders will proceed to Beaufort National Cemetery (BNC) for Part 2. Two or three motorcycles will stay behind for a possible escort to BNC.

If you have large bike flags, please bring them.
Water will be provided.

After the 12:45 briefing, we will stand a flag line for arrival of the funeral procession, rendering honors as the procession arrives and then standing a line during the service at the committal shelter.

Large Bike Flags will NOT be needed.
Water will be provided.
