DESCRIPTION:Cpl. Tommy Gray Maynard\nUSMC\, Vietnam\nVa Beach\, VA\nThursday\, 28 July 16  \n\n\nIt is with a heavy heart that I inform you that we have lost a hero from the Vietnam War. The family of Tommy Gray Maynard has requested that we stand with Honor and Respect at his memorial service on Thursday\, 28 July 2016.\n\nA Virginia Beach native Mr. Maynard\, 73\, was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving two tours in Vietnam in the early sixties as Corporal in Force Recon. He then worked as a high voltage electrician for the Navy Base\, becoming active in the Union and working his way up to being an International Union Representative for 25 years. Survivors include his wife\, Lynne\, of 53 years\, three children\, nine grandchildren\, as well as two brothers and one sister.\n\nJoin us to Honor This Hero as we Stand Tall and Silent in his Honor.\n\nThursday July 28\, 2016\nWe will establish and stand a Flag Line during the arrival of family and guests and during the Memorial Service at the Church. We will Stand Tall with Respect as Military Honors are Rendered.\n\nFollowing the Memorial Service we will escort Cpl Maynard and his family and friends to his final resting place\, where Military Honors will be rendered. \n3X5 Flags will be provided. Bring your flag in the event we need additional flags.\nAnticipate this Mission to have duration of 3 to 4 hours.\nWeather conditions are expected to be extremely warm. Every effort possible in planning and executing the PGR MISSION Statement in a manner that minimizes the inherit dangers of riding a motorcycle\, including riding in groups of all sizes and any situation. While the PGR and its riders have a remarkable safety record in the execution of our missions\, infrequently members have been injured in unforeseen accidents. In an effort to mitigate the risk of preventable accidents\, all attendees who wish to ride in a Patriot Guard motorcycle escort are asked to attend the pre-mission briefing. It will include a safety briefing and any unique ride information known to our RC that may be specific to the mission. Member safety and well- being is always a principal \nongoing concern. Our RC’s are asked to stand down from any mission that cannot be accomplished in relative safety or unreasonable risk. This includes both rides and flag lines in inclement weather and conditions. It remains each individual PGR member’s responsibility to ride within their own comfort zone and be cognizant of their surroundings and skill limitations as well as conditions present challenges beyond your skill\, comfort\, or needs you are expected to exercise good judgment in foregoing any planned participation.
