ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard has been invited by the family and friends of MSG(R) Thomas Bennett to stand in honor of his service to our Country. This is Part One of a Two Part Mission. Master Sergeant (MSG) Retired Thomas (Tom) Keith Bennett, age 79, passed away on April 18, 2019. Joining the army in 1956, Tom became a Ranger and a Master Parachutist. He was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran where he served two tours of duty. He distinguished himself as a recipient of the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars for Valor, Bronze Star for meritorious service, two Purple Hearts, the Combat Infantry Badge, and numerous less prestigious medals. Tom served with the 101 Airborne Infantry Division in Vietnam and was an adviser with the 38th Vietnamese Airborne Ranger Battalion when he was awarded the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Tom retired from the Army in 1976 with 20 years of service. Tom was one of the first volunteers for the Military Aviation Museum in Pungo, VA where he enjoyed his time with fellow volunteers and made many friends.

Love’s Travel Stop

This will be a 15 min stop to refuel and pick up additional riders.
The procession should arrive at 07:00 am.

• Brief: 07:00
• KSU: 07:15 – Enroute to Flying J Travel Center.
• All Bike Flags must be capable of highway speeds of 55-75 MPH.
• All large Flags must be furled or stowed prior to entrance at ANC.
Weather: Please monitor the weather and dress appropriately.
High Temperatures are expected during this mission.

STAGING #3 DETAILS: 08-20-19
Staging Time: 8 am
Flying J Travel Center (east side of I-95 with Golden Corral)

This will be a 15 min stop to refuel and pick up additional riders.
The procession should arrive at 0815 am.

• KSU: 08:30 – Enroute to Potomac Yard Center, 3671 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305.
• All Bike Flags must be capable of highway speeds of 55-75 MPH.
• All large Flags must be furled or stowed prior to entrance at ANC.
• We will provide an escort for MSG(R) Bennett to ANC.
• We will meet ANC PGR at Potomac Yard Center.
Weather: Please monitor the weather and dress appropriately. High Temperatures are expected during this mission.
Part 2: Internment at Arlington National Cemetery. This will be a separate mission order.
