Honor Mission
Thomas Rolland Conrey

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Thomas Rolland Conrey, 78, was a Naval Academy graduate, with earning the rank of CDR (05) after (20) years of service. CDR Conrey was an Executive Officer, Commanding Officer and Strategic Weapons Officer for Commander, Submarine Force, and US Atlantic Fleet while serving with the nuclear powered submarine group.
After his naval career he was an Electronic Engineer at the Naval Security Group here in Charleston, SC.  CDR Conrey was a member of several local organizations in the area, such as VFW Post 445 (Honor Guard), American Legion Post 147, Forty and Eight, James Island Yacht Club with serving as commander or with the leaderships of these organizations.  CDR Conrey was also a member of US Submarine Veterans, Inc., Military Officers Association of America and the National Rifle Association.  CDR Conrey was very involved the American Legion on their efforts in helping veterans.  CDR Conrey was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  CDR Conrey will later be laid to rest at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

After the briefing a flag line will be in place for the family and friends for the visitation from 9:00 am – 11:00 am.
After the memorial service starts at 11:00 am, we will then stand down and return our flags to the flag wagon.

Special Instructions:

Briefing: 11:15 am.
American Legion Post 147, 938 Folly Road, James Island, SC 29412.  While the service is going on, we will position our bikes for the escort.  There will be LEO support for this mission.  After the service, we will render honors, when they place the veteran in the hearse and then mount up for the escort.  Upon arrival to the American Legion Post 147, we will render honors as they remove the veteran from the hearse.
