The family of Greatest Generation and WWII hero Thomas Lynch, 98, has honored the Patriot Guard by requesting our presence with a Flag Line of Honor at their loved ones celebration of life.
Mr. Lynch served our great nation 1941-1945 in the US Navy and earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer flying in a Martin Mariner Bomber Patrol Group in the South Atlantic and Caribbean.
He earned the US Navy Air Crew Wing Pin with 2 Stars (2 enemy Subs sunk) and the Military Medal for Caribbean and S. Atlantic with 1 Star (1 enemy Sub sunk) along with numerous other awards, decorations, and commendations.
Mr Lynch was then employed by McDonnell-Douglas for 35 years, He was a longtime member of St. Peters Parish in St. Charles, A member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Knights of Columbus Council 823, and a member of American Legion post 312.
Mr. Lynch continues helping others by having donated his body to St. Louis University School of Medicine.
