ABOUT THE MISSION:
Master Sergeant Thomas James Dluhy is a United States Air Force veteran. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1953 to 1973. Tom Dluhy completed technical school at Lory AFB Colorado in January 1954 as a Munitions Specialist. He then served at Bitburg AB Germany with the 1st Tactical Missile Squadron USAFE and the 36th Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron USAFE. Next, he was assigned to 7235 Ammo Supply Squadron Leghorn Italy. Several rotations to the Republic of Vietnam with 412th Munitions Maintenance Squadron was also during this time period. He finished his time in the Air Force at Holloman AFB, Alamogordo, New Mexico with the 49th Munitions Maintenance Squadron Tactical Air Command. Master Sergeant Dluhy was released from active duty and honorably discharged in May 1973.While in the service of his country Master Sergeant Dluhy earned the following : National Defense Service Medal with 1 Service star, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), Good Conduct Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Longevity Service Award with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Bronze Star Medal.
