Thomas Edward Nichols
Raleigh, North Carolina – 02-27-21

Thomas Edward Nichols, 80, of Louisburg was called home by the Lord on Sunday evening February 21, 2021. He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Julia Askew Nichols and Robert Holt Nichols. Mr. Nichols was a former member of the 30th Infantry Division of the NC National Guard. He was also a founding member of the AMVETS Post 201 where he served in many capacities from 2003 to the present. “Tom” was deeply passionate about his volunteer work and serving his community. He was a member of REACT and a part of the CB Fellowship Club earlier in his life. He served on the POA board for 15 years at Lake Royale where he lived. Along with his volunteer work he enjoyed good conversation, debating, spending time outdoors and on the water, he enjoyed building and tinkering and fixing things and most of all he enjoyed being with family and friends. He was extremely enthusiastic about his work with the feral cats in Rolesville. Tom was a devout Christian with a strong faith and love for his Lord to which he shared with all whom he met. Tom worked in construction for many years here in Raleigh before becoming a Pest Control Technician with Killo Pest Control, the company from which he retired. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. He is survived by his 3 brothers, 2 sons, 2 stepdaughters, and 3 grandchildren.
