The family of Lance Corporal (LCpl) Thomas C. Welch V has requested the Patriot Guard Riders escort him on his final ride and we have advised them it will be our honor. LCpl Welch served two tours in Afghanistan with the 1st Battalion. 8th Marines as Squad/Team Leader. He received the Achievement Medal with V Device, Good Conduct Medal and Marine Sharpshooter Badge. After his time in the Marines, Thomas became a fireman where he continued to serve until his death.

After the family arrives, we will prepare for an approximately 50 mile escort to Beaufort National Cemetery. Please ensure you have enough fuel for the trip and large flags are capable of highway speeds.
