SUMMARY:Theodore Mallett
DESCRIPTION:Memorial\nTheodore Mallett\, Retired\nUSA – USAF \, WWII\, Korea\nSouth Sioux City\, Nebraska – 04-02-21\n\n\n\nABOUT THE MISSION: \nTheodore Mallett\, at the age of 20\, joined the U.S. Army in 1939. After graduating from Aviation Cadets in 1943\, he was a 2nd Lieutenant Bombardier\, flying 43 missions over Italy and France. He re-enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1946. After serving for 22 years\, Theodore retired in 1961 as a highly decorated Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. Theodore passed away in 2007\, and was interred in Dakota City\, Nebraska with Military Honors. Since that time\, due to unknown circumstances\, his casket flag disappeared. But recently it reappeared\, after over 13 years. During a clean-out of an abandoned rental home that was getting a remodel\, a triangle casket flag display case containing the flag was discovered\, as a worker was carrying it to the construction dumpster. Veterans on the crew noticed it and pulled it out\, before it was lost forever. After two months of trying\, the Patriot Guard Riders got involved in attempts to locate next of kin\, and were finally successful. This mission is to deliver this flag\, this symbol of our Nation’s gratitude to this hero\, to his next of kin 4 states away. With the assistance of PGR Riders from a total of 4 states\, we will deliver this flag\, stand a flag-line and have a memorial in remembrance of this hero.\n\n\nPRIMARY STAGING DETAILS: 04-02-21 \nStaging: 2:00 PM\n \nSiouxland Freedom Park\, (near Vietnam wall)\n1801 Veterans Drive\nSouth Sioux City\, Nebraska 68776\n\n\nRide Captains: \nBill “Wildhorse” Wooster\npgrhoth@gmail.com\n480-747-7091\n\n\nSpecial Instructions: \nStaging: 2:00 PM\nBriefing: 2:15 PM\nKSU: 2:30 PM\, we will proceed to residence from this location.
