ABOUT THE MISSION:
The American Legion Riders, Post 2, is in charge of coordinating the escort have graciously asked us if we would like to participate. Ya’ll, if you’ve never seen it, you Need to!
To be a part of the escort you must meet a at the Staging Area, as there will be no one joining the group in route.
We will be traveling at 50 mile an hour at times and therefore anyone flying a large flag must be able to handle this for about 60 minutes.
We will be riding at the 2 second rule of the motorcycle in front as we absolutely do not want any gaps in the escort.
There seems to be some confusion about who is in charge of this escort and for everyone to know it is the American Legion Riders from Post 2 Knoxville with Jim Quick and Lloyd Pintney co-ride coordinators and ride captains.
We want everyone to have a great experience escorting the Wall That Heals.
You don’t have to belong to any group to participate and all groups and clubs are invited to participate in this wonderful opportunity.
Here is the tentative schedule for the motorcycle escort.
Please feel free to pass this on to anyone interested in riding with us.
This is a rain or shine event.
We hope to see everyone there and participate in this honor.

We had 75+ bikes, trikes from several different clubs and organizations present to accompany ‘The Wall That Heals’ from Denison,TX to Durant, OK. LEOs from Texas and Oklahoma states, counties, and cities kept all riders safe. The overpass and bridges were lined with spectators and flags. We rode through downtown Durant where the sidewalks were lined with people waving flags. On Wednesday, we had members of the PGR as well as many local volunteers assist in assembling the wall in the rain. Thursday’s opening ceremony was a beautiful day. Several school students were present to learn the real truth behind the Viet Nam war. We would like to thank everybody for their participation in this mission. Most of all we want to thank everybody who served and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
