ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Department of Veterans Affairs community-based outpatient clinic in Statesboro, GA will be renamed for the late CSM Ray Hendrix. CSM Hendrix served 42 years in the Army, retiring in 1992. He worked as a veteran advocate for the State of Georgia, appointed to the Veterans Service Board by Gov. Roy Barnes in 2001 and reappointed by Gov. Sonny Perdue and Gov. Nathan Deal. He served three terms as board chairman. CSM Hendrix, a resident of Statesboro, was also an active member in the American Legion, having served in several leadership positions at local, state, and national levels. He is also credited with helping to bring the VA clinic to Statesboro.
