Camp Butler Memorial Day Ceremony
Springfield, Illinois – 29 May 2017
ABOUT THE MISSION:
The Patriot Guard has been requested to participate in the annual Memorial Day Ceremony at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL on Monday, May 29, 2017. There will be a number of guest speakers including Governor Bruce Rauner, US Senator Tammy Duckworth/Lt. Colonel US Army, and Major General Steven P. Best. There will be patriotic music, the rifle volley and the playing of taps. They would like for the PGR to start off the event by riding in on our motorcycles for those that are riders. All PGR members are invited to participate motorcycle or not. They would also like PGR to establish a flag line for the event.

- Staging will be at the Road Ranger Truck Stop approximately a mile east of the cemetery on Camp Butler Road. We will ride as a group to the cemetery. Instructions on where to park once we reach the cemetery will be given out at the staging/briefing. Flags will already have been delivered to the cemetery for the flag line.
