ABOUT THE MISSION:
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been requested to stand for MSgt (Ret E-8) Richard Lawrence Kern, age 82. Richard was a highly decorated veteran who served with the 5th and 10th Special Forces in Vietnam, Iran, Greece, and Germany. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Infantryman Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Commendation Medal, Presidential Unit Citation w/ 3 OLC, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Master Parachute Badge, Vietnam Civil Actions Medal, Good Conduct Medal (7 awards), Imperial Iranian Army Airborne Wings, Thai Parachutist Badge & Fourragere, Great Parachutist Badge, Vietnam Honorary Jump Wings, and Sharpshooter Badge (M-16). Please join us as we help support his family, pay our respects, and honor his service to our nation.
