ABOUT THE MISSION:
Hero Sanchez served in the Army Air Corp from 1946 to 1947 as a Switchboard operator. After receiving an Honorable discharge, he enlisted in the Navy, trained as a Fireman Apprentice until his Honorable discharge from the Navy in 1949.
He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal while in the Army.
He served on the USS Chilton and USS Princeton.
