About the Mission:
This will be a 2 part mission
The family of SGT John P. Rodriguez, 23, and the US Army have invited the Patriot Guard Riders to meet the Hero’s arrival returning home, and his services. We will be honored to do so.
SGT John P. Rodriguez died Jan 12 in Kuwait in a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to 2nd Engineer Battalion, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division out of Fort Bliss, Texas. His unit had been deployed to Kuwait in support of the Global War On Terror.
“A son, a husband and a friend to everyone around him, ‘Rod’ was an amazing person that we all loved, the post said. Our most heartfelt condolences go out to his family back home.”
“Our Army family will keep all of them in their prayers and never forget this outstanding patriot. Rod touched the lives of so many of our Soldiers and Veterans over the last couple of years in the unit.”
Rod, as he was known by family and friends grew up in Hemet, California. He is survived by his wife, parents, siblings and many other family members and friends.
NOTE: This mission posting is to facilitate your voluntary participation in honoring this American Hero. For those interested, and all are welcome, we will be accompanying the hero and his family from the airport to the mortuary (approx 47 miles). Please see the time table if you would like to participate.
