ABOUT THE MISSION:
Hero SOMMERS of Springfield, MO proudly and honorably served in the USA Air Corps during WWII as a bombardier. His aircraft was shot down over Germany 13 Oct. 44 and was taken prisoner. He was a POW until the end of the war. He was truly a member of the “Greatest Generation”.
After the war, hero SOMMERS went to college and became an Optomertrist for many years. He owned the Vision Clinic in Springfield for many years. He was an active member of the YMCA.
