ABOUT THE MISSION:
Walter T. Smith was born on June 13 1933 in Columbus Georgia, he passed away on September 28 2017 after a brief illness. He enlisted in the USAF in 1951 and Served in Europe before being stationed in Korea. He was assigned to Food Service. He was discharged in 1955. After the War he became a USPS worker, sold insurance and worked at a country lub. He retired to West Palm Beach where he lived for many years before returning to the Atlanta area for the last year of his life.
Mr Smith came from a large family having 9 sisters, Georgia,Canta,Rita,Denise Shirley, Hope and Wanda he also has 5 children Roberta Natalie Walter Xavier” Goo” and Andrew. He also has numerous grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Parents George Smith Gensee Hood and his stepmother Johnny Mae Smith; and two sisters Gwen and Joyce.
Walter T. Smith will be interred at the Georgia National Cemetery on Friday October 20 2017 at 11:00 AM We will stand a Silent Flag Line while the USAF Honors Team render Military Honors.
