ABOUT THE MISSION:
Hero Skinner served in the Navy and Marines from 1955 – 1960.
He last duty station was the USS Hornet Aircraft Carrier as a Aircraft Mechanic and received an Honorable discharge.
John was born, 25 Sep.,1935 in Springfield, MO and lived his entire life there. He was a very active member of the community and was a member of the Elks, Shriners, Springfield Metro Club, Life member of the Springfield Benchrest Rifle Club, Chief of the Springfield Police Reserve force for many years. He received the first Jefferson Award of Springfield in 1972 for outstanding public service to the community. He was a mail carrier, and a Claims Adjuster for Federated Mutual Insurance until his retirement.
