ABOUT THE MISSION:

Wisconsin State Trooper and National Guard Staff Sgt. Anthony “Tony” J. Borostowski, 34, of Tomah, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident while on duty. He was born January 5, 1983, grew up in the Oak Creek area and graduated from Oak Creek High School with the class of 2001. He enlisted in the Army National Guard, May 21, 2004. He completed the Health Care Specialist Course in May of 2005. He deployed as a 68W to Kuwait with the 2-128th INF 2005-2006, Iraq with the 108th FSC 2009-2010 and Afghanistan with 1-121st FA 2012-2013. He recently completed the Drill Sergeant’s Course and was assigned as a Drill SGT in the RRB. His decorations include: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, Army Service Ribbon, Humanitarian Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, NATO Medal, Professional Development Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Wisconsin National Guard Service Ribbon.

After his final deployment in 2013, he was accepted into the Wisconsin State Patrol Program, in which he graduated from on December 19, 2014. Tony received Wisconsin State Patrol’s Life Saving Award in 2015, while still in field training.
