Donald Ray Daugherty, Veteran

USN – Vietnam

Portland, Oregon – 16 May 2017

ABOUT THE MISSION:

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been requested to stand for Donald Ray Daugherty, age 78. Donald was based in Japan as an AE6. Officially, he was assigned to an A-26 squadron doing reconnaissance. He served in the Navy in Special Forces as a “frogman” (pre-SEALs). Twelve years ago his missions were declassified. He served mainly in North Vietnam frustrating the supply lines to South Vietnam from China. He overcame many harrowing missions including several airdrops over enemy territory. Shortly after his term of service ended, he found a relationship with Jesus Christ and gave his life over to gospel ministry. He was a pastor for 38 years. During that time he started or pastored 4 different churches in OR and WA. Please join us as we help support his family, pay our respects, and honor his service to our nation.
