ABOUT THE MISSION:
The family of MSgt (E-7) Akers USAF (ret) has invited the Patriot Guard to escort and stand in his honor at Barrancas National Cemetery. MSgt Akers entered the U.S. Air Force in April 1991 and served honorably until he was retired from active duty in March 2012. Awards include Meritorious Service Medal with (1) oak leaf cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal with (2) oak leaves, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal with (5) oak leaf clusters, as well as other personal awards. Trahan Funeral Home, 419 Yoakum Ct, Pensacola, Fl. is in charge of the arrangements.
