Terry served from 1967 to 1969 as a Lt Weapons Infantryman and was honorably discharged at the rank of PVT (E-1). Terry was awarded the National Defense Service Medal\, Expert Rifleman Badge (M-14)\, Vietnam Campaign Medal\, Vietnam Service Medal\, 1 Overseas Bar\, and a Combat Infantryman Badge.
