Fellow Riders,
It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that America has lost another True American Hero. Mr. Thompson was a member of “The Greatest Generation”. The family of Clarence L. Thompson Sr. has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to stand for their loved one.
Mr. Thompson passed away Friday, 7 July 2017 at the age of 96. Sgt. Clarence L. Thompson Sr. served in the United States Army during WWII in the intelligence service, including action at the “Battle of the Bulge” and the “Occupancy of Japan”. He received a National Defense Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and an Honorable Discharge. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 49 and the uncle of PGR member Capt. Bob Thompson.
Visitation 9:00 to 10:00 hours Family visitation at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 15872 Heron Bay Road East, Heron Bay, Al 36523:
10:00 to 12:00 hours. Public visitation.
The Patriot Guard Riders will be proud to render a final salute at the conclusion of visitation.
Funeral Service 12:00 hour St. Michaels Catholic Church, 15872 Heron Bay Road East, Heron Bay, AL
Upon completion of the service, we will ESCORT Sgt. Clarence L. Thompson Sr., family and friends to Dorlan Cemetery, Heron Bay, AL for committal services.
Honor Guard will be provided. LEO will not be required.
