Slone\, Retired\nUSA ARNG  – WWII\nGrayson\, Kentucky – 10 Sep 2017\n\n\n[HR][/HR]\nABOUT THE MISSION: \n\nMr. Slone is believed to be the last surviving WWII veteran in Elliott County Kentucky.  He will be arriving from Lexington and we will be greeting him on his way to Church\, accompanied by his daughter\, Donna Slone.  Mr. Slone has been a member of Little Fork United Baptist Church in Elliott County\, KY for most of his life.  He entered the Army to serve during WWII\, in Autust 1943 until December 1946 with the 292nd Joint Assaullt Signal Company (JASCO).  He served in Guam\, Leyte\, \,Luyon\, Kerametto Japan\, as well as Leshima and Okinawa\, Japan.  He re-enlisted from 1957 – 1983 in the Kentucky Army National Guard and retired with the rank of 1SG. Please feel free to stay for services if you like.
