ABOUT THE MISSION:

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders, we have been distinctly privileged by invitation, to honor a revered member of the United States Military. Please join me in standing a flag line of honor and respect for fallen Vietnam Veteran, Kenneth M. Hughes, just as he once stood for every one of us.

Hero Hughes served our great Nation in the U.S. Army for 3 years and 6 months as a Utility Helicopter Repairman. He completed two tours in Vietnam and earned the rank of SP4. In addition to protecting our country and preserving its freedoms, Veteran Hughes was awarded a Purple Heart, an Air Medal with “V” device with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic Of Vietnam Campaign Medal with “60” Device, Aircraft Crewman Badge, and Expert Rifle (M16/M14).
