ABOUT THE MISSION:

1stLT William C. Ryan Jr., 25, a USMC Aviator, died 48 years ago on 11 May 1969, in the skies over southern Laos when his F-4 Phantom was shot down by enemy ground fire. His plane crashed near the village of Ban Alang Noi. LT Ryan did not survive, and was reported KIA in Vietnam. His remains were not recovered for many years. LT Ryan flew over 250 missions, was shot down once prior to this incident, and was the recipient of 15 Air Medals, including the Purple Heart. In 2016 after many years of searching, human remains were discovered at the site of the crash and in 2017 were positively identified as 1stLT Ryan. Welcome Home Sir!

1stLT William C. Ryan, is to be interred on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on 10 May 2017, 48 yrs to the day after his death, at 1300 hours from the Administration Building. PGR has been invited to attend the services by his son Michael and we will be there to stand tall silent and proud in honor of this USMC aviator, his family, friends and comrades at arms.

Brief: 1015 hrs.
KSU: 1045 hrs. Transit to ANC render honors on Memorial Drive
Honors: 1300 hrs. Graveside ANC (Time Approx.)
Iron Horses preferred, cars welcomed as always.
Large mounted flags ok for transit, but are NOT used in ANC for graveside services.
Military mandated ID / gear NOT required for this mission.

Concealed/carry permits are NOT recognized on military installations and federal reservations. Therefore do not bring weapons or hazardous materials to this mission.
