Internment service to follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery Emporia
The Family of Army Sgt. Michael Dale Andersen has requested our presence to Honor their loved one.
He was drafted into the Army in February 1969 and he served his country well. He attended basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, advanced training at Ft. Lewis, Washington, NCOC (Shake & Bake) School at Ft. Benning, Georgia, and training at Ft. Polk, Louisiana. He earned the rank of Sergeant. After a 30 day leave, he went to the Vietnam War, where he received two Bronze Stars while with Company A, 1st Battalion, 52nd Infantry of the Americal Division’s 198th Infantry Brigade. He spent from January to December 1970 in the Vietnam conflict before arriving back to the USA on the Freedom Bird.

After the service the family has request a motorcycle escort to Memorial Lawn Cemetery
After escort and service at Memorial Lawn Cemetery please return to Charter to help take the flags down.
