ABOUT THE MISSION:

The State of Mississippi has lost another dedicated Soldier who volunteered to serve in the MSARNG to protect our country.
Sgt Kyle Clayton Thomas was killed Monday night, 29 May 2017 during a training exercise in the Mojave Desert of California.
He was assigned to the 155th Armored Brigade Combat Team in Tupelo and died while participating in a large-scale training operation at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California.

Patriot Guard Ride Captain Greg Underwood will escort members of the Thomas family and others from the funeral home non-stop to the Memphis Airport Wednesday afternoon.
Mississippi County, City, MHP and the Memphis PD will provide LEO escort to and from the Memphis Airport.

PRIMARY STAGING: Wednesday 7 June 2017 at 7:30 PM at the AMERICAN AIRLINES AIR CARGO BUILDING parking lot; 2545 Winchester Rd.; Memphis Airport; Memphis, Tennessee.
Sgt Thomas’s flight is scheduled to arrive at 8:01 PM, the MSARNG Honor Guard will perform plane-side Honors and the PGR will escort him home to E.E. PICKLE FUNERAL HOME; 500 3rd Ave. S.; Amory, Mississippi 38821.
All M/Cs participating in the escort should arrive at the staging location prepared to travel non-stop to Amory, approximately 140 miles.
Depending on the actual arrival time of Sgt Thomas’ flight, be prepared to travel approximately 2 1/2 hours after KSU at the airport.

Special Instructions:
FUNERAL SERVICE: Staging Friday 9 June 2017 at 11:00 AM at the church the PGR will provide a silent US Flag line for additional visitation until the beginning of the funeral service at 2:00 PM.

FINAL ESCORT: Immediately following the funeral service, the PGR will escort Sgt Thomas to HAUGHTON MEMORIAL PARK and provide a silent US Flag line for the graveside service with full military honors.
Large motorcycle-mounted US Flags are encouraged.

NOTES: We request experienced riders only participate in the escort Wednesday and be prepared to travel at posted speeds the entire distance.
We ask that large motorcycle mounted flags not be flown on the Wednesday escort but those are encouraged for the Friday escort.
