ABOUT THE MISSION:

It is with a sad heart that I report the loss of a Viet Nam USAF War hero. Sgt Jerry Pete Nilo honorably served from 14 July 1964 until 12 July 1968 with 1 year, 5 months, and 20 days of foreign service. Born 22 October 1946 in Brooklyn, NY but lived in McGrady, NC for years before enlisting in the USAF at the age of 17. Jerry served as an avionics radar navigation systems repairman. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for his service.

Jerry was married to his wife Phyllis for 43 years. They have a son, two daughters, and four grandchildren.
